Amnesty International Die-In Flash Mob in Memory of Farmer Baek Nam-gi
“We are All Baek Nam-gi”
Amnesty International Korea is gathering people at 6:56 pm on Monday, 14 November, one year on at the exact time and location at which farmer Baek Nam-gi was struck down by police water cannon to perform a ‘die-in’ flash mob performance in his memory.
Location: Lemeilleur Jongno Town, Jongno-gu, Seoul
Date and Time: from 6:20 pm, Monday, 14 November 2016
Performance Timetable
– 6:20 pm – rehearsal
– 6:56 pm – performance begins (repeated up to three times)
– 7:15 pm – wrap up
A ‘die-in’ flash mob is a form of nonviolent action in which many people gather together in one location and symbolically act out dying together.
Not a single law enforcement officer involved in the incident has yet been held to account. We will be gathering at the pedestrian crossing in front of Le Milleure Jongno Town to demand that any officer responsible for the excessive use of force be brought to justice. When farmer Baek Nam-gi was struck down by police water cannon, we were all struck down. “We are All Baek Nam-gi.” We hope that there will be lots of media attention, especially from photo journalists. END.
